Dining

Local flavours, fire, and altitude.

A kitchen rooted in the seasons of the valley.

The restaurant

Epic - The Table at Auberge du Vin

Executive Chef Patricia Torres

Chef Patricia Torres brings a deep reverence for Mendocino ingredients and a creative sensibility shaped by years of working within Argentina’s wine regions. Her menus change with the seasons – never fixed, always responsive to what the valley offers. She believes that the best cooking begins not in the kitchen but in the garden, the vineyard, and the high Andean pastures that surround the lodge.

Under the direction of Executive Chef Patricia Torres, Epic is a kitchen with a clear point of view: seasonal, local, and deeply Mendocino. Chef Torres draws on the extraordinary larder of the Valle de Uco – high-altitude lamb, vegetables from the kitchen garden, mountain herbs gathered from the foothills, and meats slow-cooked over live wood fire – to create a dining experience that is genuinely of this place.

Every dish at Epic is conceived in dialogue with the wine list. Our sommelier works alongside Chef Torres to build pairings that reflect the valley’s finest estates – more than 200 labels drawn almost exclusively from the Malbec, Cabernet Franc, Chardonnay, and blends of the Valle de Uco. This is Argentine wine country cooking at its most honest and its most refined.

Epic is not a hotel restaurant in the conventional sense. It is a destination table – unhurried, personal, and inseparable from the landscape that surrounds it.

Breakfast

07:30 — 10:30

A generous spread served in the Epic dining room and on the terrace each morning. Freshly baked croissants and pastries, seasonal fruit, artisan cheeses, homemade yoghurt, freshly squeezed juices, and expertly brewed coffee. A la carte: eggs to order, grilled meats, smashed avocado, and homemade granola with Valle de Uco honey. The ideal start to a day among the vines.

Terrace Lunch

12:30 — 15:00

A concise, ingredient-led menu served alfresco with vineyard views. Light, seasonal plates built around the valley produce – the ideal midday pause between a morning winery visit and an afternoon in the Andean sun.

Dinner

19:30 — 22:30

A five-course tasting menu that evolves with the seasons, with an optional wine pairing curated by our sommelier from the valley’s finest estates. Guests may also dine a la carte. The atmosphere is warm and unhurried – this is not a restaurant that rushes its guests. Reservations recommended.

Pairings and private tastings

Winery dinners, vertical tastings and vineyard tables under the stars.

Bar and Lounge

The Epic bar is the social heart of Auberge du Vin. Settle by the stone fireplace with a glass of barrel-aged Malbec, or let our team guide you through an evening tasting from our private cellar selection. For cocktails, our bartenders draw on the botanicals of the Andes: a Torrontes and elderflower spritz, a smoky Malbec Negroni, a pisco sour with high-altitude herbs. Served alongside boards of artisan cheese, cured meats, and local olives throughout the afternoon and evening.

Private Dining and Wine Events

The lodge’s private dining room seats up to twelve and can be arranged for corporate dinners, celebratory lunches, and bespoke wine pairing evenings. Chef Torres designs personalized tasting menus for private events on request. Our sommelier curates vertical tastings – guiding guests through a single estate across multiple vintages – paired with a tailored menu. For groups, asado evenings on the terrace with a live wood-fire grill are available on request.
